Yes...my snail DOES walk on water

I've seen pond snails do this but never caught one of the bigger snails doing it..until now.

My fiance loves it when the snails do this. I have one in my 5g that scoots over to where the flow from the filter is and rides the current. I felt bad for it and moved him once and he went back to it again. :screwy:
 
My juvie brigs do this all the time. We call it riding the surface tension. Pretty neat, untill they get close to the HoB...then they sink like a rock. I also wonder if this isn't a type of "funnel feeding". I believe, at least briggs, will go to the water surface and create a funnel to catch protiens and foods that are floating. They then dip their mouth into the funnel and eat up.

They will absolutely form a funnel out of their foot at the water's surface to steal floating foods, pretty funny!
