what have you come across most commonly - i know we've a;; gone through ich but what else
Definitely ick. One question I'd like to ask though is their method of treatment, or more specifically whether others have tried high-temperature method without any medication... It worked for me, but I wonder if it worked well for others...

Hm...still can't vote in a poll...odd
For me it has certainly been columnaris infections. Of course I had to get something taht can be very stubborn to treat. I've got two qtanks of it right now. All my celebes came with it. The goyder rainbow and boesmani rainbow came with it. And three harlequins I bought came with it. Also 5 neons. I'm beginning to think its something in the water:rolleyes:

I have fought bacterial stuff as well as hemrragic septicimia. recently Ich has been huge. It is at it worst when adding tank mates! here is a great link for learning more... For Ich follow disease > Protozonan: www.skepticalaquarist.com

From aquarium pharmaceuticals i started using MelaFix antibacterial when i first got into the hobby. In conjunction with the MelaFix i now use their Pimafix antifungal. Both work wonders when used together ( has fought a plethora of types of problems from ick to fin and tail rot to popeye). I use it in my Brackis tank which has aggressive fish and add both every water change. it seems to help regenerate and heal wounds at an extreme rate.
for ick i have tried the increaseed heat (by 5 degrees so from 28 i raised it to 33 which i read should not be to high for a short period of time and i also added aquarium salt to the tank) using that method i lost 3/4 of the fish population.
hopefully this wasn't to off topic

So far the only "disease" I've encountered were camallanus worms. I lucked out though, and somehow the problem corrected itself after moving two fish that were presumably affected. Those two fish ended up being ok, and after that no more problems........guess I was just lucky!

I have never had a case of the ick. I thought I would when I got some clown loaches 3 months ago but I missed it. I do know that I have been lucky, and I mostly keep Tetras. I did deal with fungus about every 8 months till I put UV on my main sump.
My gourami had popeye. Some Maracyn 2 and some water changes seemed to heal everything up. Of course 4 moths later he died of something else.

It won't let me vote more than once so I said other. Ick and fin rot have come up the most and most of the time I can stop it.

i fought ich and fin rot and massive frequent water changes was all i used, and it worked great. i don trust meds, i dont like adding any kind of chemicals to my water. besides dechlorinator.
