While I was at the LFS today, my daughter picked out a new snail and spotted this little shrimp in the bottom of the tank. So when the guy pulled out the snail, he scooped out the shrimp and gave it to us. He said it is a pinocchio shrimp, is he right? Cute little creature anyway.

I think it's a ghost shrimp or a rednose shrimp. Not sure. Cool pickup!

I'd say ghost shrimp/glass shrimp but I'm no good with invert id. Congrats on your new little guy.

His nose is longer and pointier than a ghost. I'd say red nose.

its absolutely a caridina gracilirostris or longirostris also known as pinnochio shrimp, rednose shrimp. Its full fw but a low order breeder meaning that the eggs it may carry will hatch into larvae which require brackish water to turn into shrimp. They are exceptional algae eaters and that is quite a nice score!
