Maingano causing problems

So, with my Demasoni, Mbamba and Cyno Lion "Sanga" juvies getting to a certain size and a new batch of Dems and Mbmaba fry that I just stripped a week ago, I decided to integrate my juvies into my 40g along with my other juvies that are flourishing in the same tank. With the addition of these juvies, I figured I would ease the load on the tank since it is getting pretty full.

I snapped up my albino socolofi, without moving any rocks, whoo! Got them while I fed them, they never saw it coming I put the 4 that I have into tupperware containers with tank water, and used the opportunity to measure and vent them. The one that claimed the rock pile on the right side was in fact a male and a touch over 3 inches. The rest turned out to be females and were about 3 inches as well. I lucked out there! I released the juvies into the 40g with no issues. Not so for the albinos.

So, I acclimated all 4 to my 55g and released the albinos. I watched and nobody paid any attention to them...Except for my grumpy almost 4 inch male maingano. He has spent the last 2 days making their life hell. He has made it his mission to seek all of them out and attack them. From one end of the tank to the other. I have caught him and held him in timeout for over an hour, and when released, he was fine for a few min, but went right back to it. I also tried rearranging my rocks to breakup and territories he may have been trying to claim. Still hasnt helped. He has toned it down a small amount, but they have some nipped fins and some of the females spend some time in the corners. Only thing I can think of is to remove him at this point. But, he is my oldest guy, and he is gorgeous. I am growing out some maingano, but they are about 2 inches. If I add them, do you think he will chill some, or will he be more aggressive? Lol. He has always been boss of mine, but he has never been that bad. He has chased, but never very far, and he never singled out any fish. So, I am a little surprised at his aggression. I added a 5-5.5'' F1 Male Msobo and he tried to assert dominance over him. The Msobo opened its mouth wide and the maingano finally took a hint when he saw the size of the msobos mouth, lol... The Msobo rarely moves faster than a slow crawl. He just chills.

My only worry is I can add 2 right now, the 3rd is too small. He is messing up 3 inch albinos that dont back down to anyone but him. I'd worry he would kill my 2 inchers. How bad does ur maingano chase them? did he do lots of damage when you added the smaller guys?

well, i didnt want to stress my high quality juvies, and he never let up on my albinos, so in the floating net he goes. He will be staying there at least till the albinos fins grow back. I hope to not rehome him, but it may be the only solution

Well, my maingano's temp home in the floating net has taken all hostility away from the tank....well, the dems are always hostile, but thats another story, lol. In fact, the albino's are now integrated perfectly fine into the tank. I just noticed that I have a female albino holding already. Cool stuff. I will prob strip her in 2 weeks. Never had albino fry before.
