marine supplements?

I'm just getting a tank started...

I plan to keep:

fish
shrimp
crabs
stars/urchins/featherdusters

What marine supplements do I need to add? I was told only Iodine for the crustaceans. They said calcium is mostly for hard corals and coralline algae.

Food. There is endless debate about iodine for crustaceans, and almost no science.
DTs or Tahitian Blend phytoplankton will be a good supplement for your filter feeders.

The way I had it explained to me was not to add anything you don't test for.
Example- if you don't have a strontium test that tells you that you are low- don't add strontium.
