If he'll hold your hair for you w/o taking any pictures after you've had *way* too much to drink, it's probably love.

When either one of you lets a fart rip and you don't get embarrassed or disgusted, you just giggle like crazy.

When the hormonal giddiness goes away and you're still with the person. That's love.

When you can look him/her in the eye and tell that person that he/she is your best friend, c'est l'amour.

Ok so here we go with my definitive.
Love is WHEN YOU CARE MORE FOR SOMETHING OR SOMEONE ELSE THAN YOU DO FOR YOURSELF.
Love is looking into the wild eyes of wonder of your child and knowing that you were in part responsible for that sense of wonder.

Love is being brave enough to throw caution to the wind and say the three most important words I LOVE YOU :headbang2:as often as you can
Without worrying about what others may think. For at the end of the day and at the end of one's life it is certain that we will not be measured by the abundance of our possessions but rather by the abundance of impressions made by our existance. Why the end of the day? Well ponder this -How many people have died today while they were preparing for a brighter tomorrow? And at this end what really matters, what truly matters except how liberal or stingy we were with our love.

A younger version of me believed that love was vulnerability. I recall falling in love for the first time being the worst day of my life, because that was when I knew I could lose something I truly considered important to me. No matter what friends I make, what goals I achieve, I could accept death for what it is, because I knew that those were things I would be able to let go of when my time is over. Being in love on the other hand.. I could not bear the thought of death separating us, could not bear the thought of falling out of love and seeing her with someone else. I feared death, I feared aging, and in some strange way, I feared no longer being loved. For the first time, I felt vulnerable.
The backend of that story doesn't end well, but back pain, car crashes and war have all done a hell of a job making sure I knew I was vulnerable regardless. :silly:
Also, the current me is totally making fun of the younger me for being such a emo crybaby.

After ten years of marriage, and he has been working 12 hour shifts six days a week and you get a text message that says, "I miss you". Well, I think it's love.

Love is when you've been married to the same man for twenty years and you still enjoy serving him up a homecooked meal at the end of the day. Unless, of course, you're talking about the love of a parent for a child or the love between siblings and so on.

Gotta love greek roots for the word!!!!!!!
I like how you call it flavours , totally reinforces what I have always said about love. It is about more things than just the physical thing people call sex.
The one that people so often miss or ignore that is most important agape!!! Doing so makes them a taker and not a giver.
