Is it possible to overfilter your water when you have filter feeders? I just got a bamboo today, and am contemplating more.

But before I do, I wanna make sure a 29g can support more and that I can't over filter the water. I've got 4 layers of quilt batting in my top tray, I can take out some if need be.

I was under the impression that bamboo shrimp preferred good water movement. As long as the tank has been well established, there should be lots of things in the water for the shrimp to filter in. :)

Nah, don't bother. They will walk along the bottom of your tank and "sweep" the substrate for detritus, uneaten fish food and other yummy (ewww) snacks. If the food is there, they will find it. Filter feeders like clams are a different story, but shrimp will go to find their lunch if their lunch doesn't come to them.
