I thus far have lost my dad's brother's wife to cancer, and my mom's sister to cancer. Both of these ladies were very special people who had a great deal to do with helping raise me while my mom got her education degree and got us out of the welfare state.

Every year for the past 3 years I have been the corporate foodservice provider donating my services to the people that put on the relay for life here in regina. It is an all night event.

I found this video on youtube that I wanted to share with you all that shows what one place did as a fund raiser for cancer research. IT TOTALLY MADE MY DAY

Great vids.....I lost my grandpa when I was 8 now 14....He had a 1 in a billion chance of getting this type of cancer. He recovered from Kimo but it didn't get it all away and he died. The cancer wasn't caused from being fat or anything. He didn't do any drugs ate very healthy and walked 5miles every morning every day and hiked a lot during that summer. I wished he was still around to hear stories of his job. One of his stories was Jerry Jones ( Owner of Dallas Cowboys) wasn't paying his bills so my grandpa ordered to have his oil operation shut down tell he payed because he wouldn't pay. ( my grandpa was high up in us bank). He came from nothing to a lot and its sad not to have him anymore.

My girlfriends Mothers funeral was today. She defeated breast cancer 11 years ago, but got kidney cancer as well which they caught too late. She died on the 8th of this month.

My mother passed the 3 of this month. I will be bringing her home to my Grandma soon. I am sorry for all the other who have lost someone to this horrible illness, nothing hurts so much as to see your loved ones suffer.

I'm so very sorry for your losses.

My Uncle died of Thyroid cancer, and I have several friends who have fought cancer and are clear..... so far. I worry that it will come back.

My dad's mom : Stomach
My mom's mom: Breast
My Aunt (survivor): Breast
My other Aunt(the first one's twin, also survivor): Ovarian
My uncle: Passed when 24 yrs old Hodgkins Lymphoma
My oldest brother (survivor): melanoma
My older brother (remission): Testicular cancer

I'm pretty sure I'm screwed.

My mother died of cancer in 1978. I was 12. She was not suppose to live to be an adult as the type of cancer she had is only found in children. She was and still is the only adult EVER to be diagnosed with it. Everyone else who has ever had it died before their 18th birthday.

I also just found out that my father has a mass in one of his lungs that is either cancer or TB. So, either way, my dad has a long fight ahead of him.
