Puffy Fish

Hi! I'm new to this forum. I have done a few Google searches on a variety of fish topics and several times been referred here. I've read discussions and learned a thing or two that I've been able to use at work.

I'm the new Senior Aquatics Specialist at our local Petco. That doesn't mean a whole lot - I'm very much a novice at fishkeeping, however they have a lot of faith and feel I'm a fast learner and a glutton for punishment as I get a good deal of pleasure out of maintaining the store's 80 tanks.

I'd like to be able to offer customers good, accurate advice and this seems like an excellent place to learn. Whenever someone comes up with a question I can't answer (and there are a lot of them), I investigate the answer online when I get home and hopefully absorb the information enough to remember it later when the question comes up again.

At home, I have several small tanks and one bigger one. I have a 54-gallon corner bowfront with a fat and happy little group: Gold Severums, Rosy Barbs, Plecostomus, Yoyo Loach, Figure 8 Puffer. I also have a 6-gallon thickly planted tank, and several Betta tanks. It's hard not to work at Petco and not have multiple Betta tanks - some of the Bettas that come in are absolutely magnificent.

Anyway, I look forward to learning here.

Welcome. And kudos to you for wanting to learn about fish in order to do your job better and give customers the info they need to do things the right way. You'll learn lots here. It's a rare day that I don't learn (or relearn, as the case may be) something here on the Forums. You might encourage your customers to visit here as well.
