I personally love Purigen and just started out with plants in my tank. It seems like it removes a bunch of c**p and was wondering if it removed things that would be beneficial to my plants such as ferts. I know it removes nitrates...
Purigen in a planted tank?

I don't run it in my heavily planted tanks because I want the plants to have the nitrogenous wastes they need. It would be silly to remove all the nitrogenous wastes then have to dose nitrogen. I know some people do run it in planted tanks but I know I've only run it to help keep nitrates low in unplanted/high bioload tanks.
Dam.... bad news I guess... I guess I'll just have to wait and see if my plants do well with it...
