30g specie tank/pair or single speciman

any ideas? any cool cichlids that would be good as a single specimen, pair or species only tank in a 30? think outside the box on this one, something different...

If mbuna: IMHO the best choice is Ps. saulosi; 2 bright colors in a single species.
If tangs: a colony of a species of the brichardi complex or a colony of blue neon (P. nigripinnis).
Recently I read that if in their own tank, adult blue neons will not harm the fry! Not sure how they will do in a 30gal.

A 30g tank is way too small for cyps.

I would say Hemichromis Guttatus ( jewel Cichlids). You have plenty of room for a pair and they get a really bright red.
