Hi,
I currently have 4 bettas and I keep them in separate 1/2 gallon plastic tanks (the ones w/the different collor tops). I would like to put them each in their own 1 gallon tank, however we haven't found any that are very nice. The big vases look nice, but I'm worried about keeping them at a constant temp. (the apartment gets pretty cold at night). I was thinking of either putting them in big vases on a shelf w/lighting to keep them comfy. or going in search of a decent 1 gallon tank for each (although I have been to several Pet stores and haven't found any I like). Any suggestions on where I can look? Any new ideas on what I can use? I will be purchasing more Bettas, but I don't want to keep buying the kits, I would rather put them in something they will be happy in and will also look nice. Please let me know if you have any suggestions.
Thanks again!!!!

Maybe buy a standard ten gallon with three dividers (with holes for water circulation). I'm a big fan of plastic canvas sold in the craft section of WalMart. I would use a filter on each end just to make sure everyone has fresh water though. One tank is a lot less maintenance than four.

i brought one of those skinny long tanks with glass dividers, have the heater and filter in the middle one and it works great, because theres not much current where the bettas are.

I have read about a person using those reptile heating pads to keep things warms by placing it under the tanks.

If you use a tank with dividers then make sure to put things like fake plants or real plants near the dividers so the males can't always see each other or they may freak out.

Another thought: if using dividers, drop the water level a bit. Bettas are quite the little jumpers when they want to be. If you do go with the dividers idea, it might be a good idea to go with opaque ones. As TKOS said, if they see each other a lot, they may "freak out."

Great advise!! I will look around for a big tank and get dividers. I was wondering what to do about the Bettas seeing each other. I don't want to stress them out. I already have plants for them (they love to rest in them!!) So I will just transfer their plants.
Thanks again.
