My water is still cloudy from the move and the flourite. I have not added my black background or moved the intakes/spray bars to their final resting place.

great looking tank, just one thing, I find that there is too much clutter. May I suggest that you try to better manage the hardware.

I agree too muh clutter, but that can be easily fixed by adding a background and moving the heaters and such to the ends of the tank.
I realy like the look of it though, nice driftwood

nice tank, my suggestions would be to hide that hardware and try and make the wood look more natural. Put that thermometer on the side and get something for the tank with some height to balance out the tank like a tall piece of driftwood or plant. Keep up the good work.
I think you need to give me a few pieces of your drift wood when you come to the bike show this weekend. :D You have more than enough.....and I need some good pieces.
Tank looks great. I do think a background would make things look much better, even if you just paint the back of the tank a solid color. Seeing all the wires takes away from the effect. Glad to see the cabinet is holding up. :D

I like it! What is the driftwood on the right-hand side sitting on? A rock? I would like to see a close-up of that corner, if you have it.

I have an Eheim 2213 Classic and Eheim 2217 Classic! If you add up the numbers it doesn’t come up to the 8 times turn over everyone talks about but I can tell if I went any higher it would be to much current. I don’t have much experience but it is my personal opinion that Eheims are more efficient than other filters. That’s why the 8-11 times turn over is not necessary. Just my two cents:D
I agree with everyone about the equipment! I put my background on tonight and it looks much better but I still have a hodgepodge of tubes and heaters. I wanted to place my driftwood and plants before I decided where to put my heaters and intakes. As suggested, I will most likely move the intakes and heaters to the far corners and move the spray bars on the sides! Hopefully. once my lights come in I will have a few tall plants to fill in the background.

I hate to tell you:eek: it's fake! It's the only fake thing in my tank but I really like it.... It was originally a 3D background but I ran it ‘caddy’ corner and put gravel behind it to create a tier effect. I will take close ups this week and put them on my website! I will send you anE-Mail when they are ready.

I guess I owe you one! It should really smell great after a 5 hour drive.:D My LFS still has a few pieces; I will ask him how much he wants for them! He’s a friend of mine and I may be able to get them cheap! Not to many people in my area even know what drift wood is :duh:

I would recommend that you put the heaters horizontally about 2 inches or so from the substrate. You will more efficientally heat the tank and you will be able to hide them better.

Unfortunately I can’t do that because my heaters are not fully submersible! I bought 2 EBO –JAGER because I heard they were the best! It clearly says on BigAls.com that they are submersible but that is incorrect! That’s 3 strikes for BIGALS, I don’t think I will be using them anymore.:(

Just curious...
Why do you have two thermometers?
Also, I also bought a heater from Big al's said was not submersible, but it obviously was. I found that odd. Although, I do have it running horizontally across the bottom of my tank and I haven't zapped my fish yet :P.

I have had incredibly bad luck with HEATERS! One went into overdrive and drove my water temps to 90 degrees. Lost 2 bleeding hearts and several neons :shake: I had another one go into overdrive but I caught it in time and another one just shutdown completely! I bought 2 so if one fails the other with cover until I get a replacement. . Plus I didn’t want to get one big one; if one large heater malfunctions it could increase your water temperature to fast.

Not heaters...
I was referring to the thermometers on the front of the glass of your tank. There seems to be one to the left and one dead center. It just seems that the one on the left should do the job abd the one in the middle just distracts from the tank.

I think the tank looks good. About the plants... They appear to be live plants and not plastic. From what I have heard and believe, you are supposed to go with a heavily planted tank to ward off algae problems.
Any clutter 'problems' is easily fixed or hidden when the plants grow in. Thermometers can be place on the side of the tank..
My Ebo Jager heaters are submersible. I didn't know they had a heater that was not...

:duh: That wasn't to smart was it ?!?!?!?:argh Sorry, I had heaters on the brain. I went back and looked at my post and I typed “thermometers” but I was talking about heaters.. Geeeezz! One of those days!
The thermometers are temporary… I will move them to the lower back corner as soon as I get everything settled. I actually have 4 in the tank right now  I don’t know if you can tell from the pics but my plants will go on the left hand side of the tank so the majority of my lights will also go on the left hand side. I’m just seeing if it causes a temperature difference.

It clearly says on the heater not to immerse below the water line. I don’t want to take any chances! I have the “TS” model.
Look at the link on Uncle Bete's post, people are still putting them under the water even tough the instructions say not to...
