inline heating?

There are ones for Renas, but I've never actually used them to see what their effects are. I think it would create a more even heating since the water is heated and the canister disperses the water.

Although, how does a heater heat water that fast when the water is going super fast already?

I use the hydor 300 on both my 55 and 58 gal tanks. They are the best solution for evenly heating a tank to a very accurate temp.benefits include durability, esthetics, even heating.Ive had mine for almost 4yrs in non stop use with zero trouble and a temp setting of plus minus 1 deg all day long.

thank you everyone for your comments and advice, i was think about going with inline heating to remove clutter from my tank. does anyone know if it reduces the output of the filter at all?

I might be a bit dense as I am having trouble seeing a financial advantage of inline. Just the way the water flows leaves me to believe that the heater would run longer (higher cost too). Sure could use some clarification on them.

They heat the water with elements like those found in the rear window defrosters of a car.I really dont know if they are cheaper to run or not but I do know they are a much better choice for a natural tank and to offer a better more even heat to the entire tank. They are also a great choice for tanks with rammy fish such as big cichlids as they are not in there to be broken by the brutes. And no,they would not reduce the flow of the filter as they are actually bigger inside the unit then the id of the feed/outlet line.Which is another reason they heat the water as quicly as they do.

I love my hydor, its out of the tank and temps are verry stable plus no more unplugging while doing a wc. I don't notice a bit of flow drop either.
