odd discus out

i have pair of violet discus that my lfs ordered in for me and are in with 5 mixed viel angels. I know its best to iethr pair or school discus. I am buying a pairof discus from another forum member, and im jus wondering if four discus will lead to one of them being picked on excessivly? or will the angels act as a buffer for the whole group? Should i get another discus from somewhere to make the groups more balanced, or will the discus be just fine in a group of four

I dont have a firm answer for you but I can say that The more the better is what I have found works for me? Lets here what others say.

I would say have at least 5, more if possible in a community tank. When people talk of having a pair of discus, it is a breeding pair not just 2 discus and they are in their own tank.
