well my 10 gallon planted attempt is going about average, most plants are growing well and some have new plants growing off them.

but one problem i am having is green algae, not so much on the sides of the tank but on the leaves of my swords. i can see tracks from the snails eating it but they are not enough, all that is in the tank right now is 4 guppies, im wondering what would be a good addition for keeping the leaves clean. I was thinking otos at first but iv heard they favor brown algae(which i see slim to none of).

iv heard clown plecos are good for planted tanks. but thats only from breif things iv read.

If you have that big of an algae problem I would look to the cause first before adding another fish. A bristlenose pleco will fit in the tank but they still produce a lot of waste and may create more problems then they solve.

What are you nitrate readings? I would assume there is too much nutrients int he water and that is why the algae is blooming. Also what is your lighting like and how long do you leave them on?

One thing I have learned is to do a water change after you clean algae off of surfaces. This helps get rid of algae spores that are released into the water.

i dont know if its that big of a problem its only on a few leaves and almost no where else in the tank, light is 2.2 wpg 6500k
12 hours a day, nitrate is kepts between 20-30, water from tap has 10 ppm nitrate. i do 50% water changes weekly.

Sounds fine if it isn't really taking over. There will always be a bit of algae. I would just cut off the affect leaves before your next water change. A bleach dip of 10:1 water/bleach is also supposed to work on hardier plants.
