How do you tell the difference? Almost a year ago I bought some syno petricola from a local guy. They have grown pretty slowly and are about 2"-2.5" now. Now on the local forum I have heard people refer to the synos from the same guy as Synodontis lucipinnis. Is that what I have? I have no idea. It almost seems like this name is interchangeable.
I know Synos lucipinnis are smaller, will that make a difference? So far they are in my mbuna tank keeping the population way in check.

Thank you

It seems I have Synos lucipinnis since the spots don't line up. That's great I can get a few more :)
