post count ?

Why does it seem like some threads that I post to add to the count but some do not? I know that a thread that you post to several times and on a continuing basis doesn't keep adding but there have been several new threads that I post to and some add to but others do not. Just curious.
 
There are certain forums which do not contribute to your personal post count, such as GCC...If you view the forum home page ( http://www.aquariacentral.com/forums ) it says in the forum description which do not count to your post count...

In forums which count, every post is counted....no matter how much you post
