I just got a new Toms Mini Canister filter for my 10g tank, and while I'm pretty sure I put it together right and followed all the directions, I plugged it in and I can feel the motor working when I touch it, but it is not starting anything. A quick solution would be great because I'm at my family's house right now and need to go home fairly soon. I topped off the filter like it said and put the little cap back on.

Thanks!

When I started mine up I first fillid it up until the water level got to the bottom of the lid, this was not high enough. I had to fill it up until a little water dribbled out of the priming hole to get it to work.

Also did you wait five minutes for the media to absorb some of the water and the top it off again? This is what the instructions say to do.

The only other thing I can think of is maybe a hose/tube connection is letting in air or something.

Fill it with cement and use it as a boat anchor.

 ouch! Sounds like someone dislikes mini canister! :dance2:
I use one on one of my cray tanks (5g) and it isn't to bad. I hate the fact that there is no gasket that fits the assembly between the top and canister.
