Well the crayfish experiment will soon end... lol I got a crayfish the other day and he wasted no time in tearing up all my plants. I'll have to look into some large shrimp that won't get eaten by my angelfish.

Does anybody have any suggestions for Angelfish-safe shrimp? I like RCS but I know I can't have em.

Angelfish safe would probably be Amano Shrimp. Have you looked at Cambarellus patzcuarensis? They stay small, dont' eat plants and will defend themselves with their claws.

I agree, I don't have experience with keeping CPOs with Angelfish but I think it should be fine. Try it out! Just make sure they have a place to hide for when they're molting.

Yeah I have a couple places for them to hide. Thats actually the first thing the cray I have now did when I got him. I haven't seen any shrimp at my local LFS's so maybe I can mail order some soon...

I'll look into amano, I've heard they are good at keeping the tank clean so thats definitely a plus. Do amano reproduce easily?

Amanos are very good at eating algae, but they're hard to breed. The CPOs, however, breed easily and scavenge as well. Why aren't you considering them?

I would consider them, its just that my first experience with crays hasn't been a good one lol. I'll try the amanos or another large shrimp first

CPO's stay under 2" and don't damage plants whatsoever. Cajun dwarf crayfish are a very very similar species, except different colour and cheaper.

i woudln't keep cpo's with angels. Angels are predators and CPO's are only 1". After molting they would be way to susceptible and would end up being a $20 a piece snack. Adult amanos might work or you could try one of the larger fan filter shrimp species.
