Well yesterday was the final treatment day of using Maracyn 2 for suspected popeye on my Gourami. Since day 2 he has not shown any signs of trouble and is back to normal. It seems that I was probably right in suspecting that paint fumes were still leaching out of the new lighting system I had put on tank top.
So I can finally do a water change to get rid of the bacterial bloom that has come up and the fish can finally get a regular meal. I hadn't been feeding since the meds say no water changes and I didn't know if it would kill off the good bacteria.
