Hi,

Here are some pics of my ~five week old 55-gallon tank (6-zebra danios; 4-dwarf neon rainbows; 3-Australian rainbows).

Also included is a pic of my sweet Nanday Conure, Rocky (who revealed herself as a girl when, at three, she tried hatching two cashews and three raisens at the bottom of her cage). She is fifteen now...lol...

Take care and tanks for stopping by...:)

Nice tank!

Very lovely. Nice composition and variety.

Thanks so much for your comments and encouragement on my tank. You have some awesome examples for me here, too. Great to look forward to stretching and creating the healthiest and most enjoyable habitat possible for my fishies.

I hope to try and succeed with live plants in the future and will look forward to any recommendations you may have.

I am very committed to the happiness of my pets. With regard to Rocky, she comes with me everywhere I go in the house. Because birds travel in flocks, it is so important that she has such a relationship with me. We are essentially a flock of two right now. As she opens herself to the fish, her feeling of a flock will hopefully increase. I do put her to bed at 7:00 pm most nights. Having 12 hours of each, darkness and daylight are key to her hormonal health as a single woman without a mate...:)
Although she does look at me that way sometimes...lol...

Anywho, I look forward to our future together as fish lovers and aquarists at our various levels.

Thanks for making my experience richer and that of my fish especially with your support and the sharing of your expertise.

Take care.

Hi Jaykit,

...yes, it is a skull, but it is no-one I have ever known...lol...

seriously, it was a clay piece in an aquarium store. For me it is symbolic relative to nature (historically humanly, culturally, as well as naturally). It also presented some pretty good real estate, at least from my perspective, in the area of hiding places...:)...what do you think about that?...:)

I don't think it quite fits in with the essense of the rest of my tank overall though. Very intuitive of you to ask a question about that particular piece. We will see...In additon to standing in representation of the above mentioned symbolism of realistic elements, I find that it still represents death where everything else signifies life, beauty, and resilience. Now. Are you sorry you asked...?...lol...:)
