Well, sadly enough my betta, Indigo, passed away a few days ago. I didn't plan on getting another betta, but I went to Wal*Mart (gag) and was looking through the tank supplies when I saw this little guy. The surrounding bettas were dead, so I couldn't just leave him there to suffer the same fate, so I brought him home. He now resides in my 10 gallon heavily planted with some fancy male guppies, 2 otos, 2 long-finned blue danios, 4 apple snails, and a temporary clown loach (he was deformed so they couldn't sell him so I adopted him and he's growing up just fine). Sorry about the picture quality it was my cell phone. The first photo is Indie and the second is Fawkes.

Beautiful fish! I love the butterfly pattern on bettas, and yet I don't have a single one with it. Indigo looks a lot like my betta that I got from Petsmart a while ago!

Thanks! Indigo was purchased from a local pet store about a year ago. He was kept in a tank with some barbs or tetras, I can't really remember, so I got him along with some guppies and they got along great together. I just happened to get lucky that Fawkes doesn't seem to be aggressive. I'll try to get some better shots of him later this evening.

Nice betta!

We ended up with one of our Bettas from walmart (Rufio). We got him because like you we had Walmart fish guilt. "If we leave him here he will die"

I'm sorry to hear of your loss.

But your new fella is really nice. I have to avoid the betta section at walmart- i just cant go in without wanting to save one.... *time travel 4 years ago* ya, 8 bettas was enough.... MOM LOOK AT THIS ONE! AND THIS ONE! 15 mins later and 3 bettas more- i had my collection of 11 bettas!
