hmnmmm mudskippers are brackish though so in my books they don't qualify but nice fish
for me it has to be the lungfish simply because they can live outside of water in a cocoon.
here is mine I call him gramps

A number of Mudskippers are freshwater aren't they? So that kinda counts.
I love oddball fish so it's hard to choose, but I guess I'll go with Microphis deocata

The real stiphodon rutilaureus.
This is one of our "Pet" freshwater eels. It's about 3ft long and lives in a small stream in our back garden. It likes Bacon, but then, who doesn't. :)

They are indeed true freshwaters. That flap is a spawning display from what I've read. They're very hard to come by. Of course, my favorite has to be Dario dario

I'm thinking about getting a fire eel BFK. I know you "need" substrate, but I have a feeling a fire eel can be perfectly happy with no substrate.

Yep. I wish I could have keep at least my multis too...but I wasnt going to fork over $100+ worth of fish to my LFS for a third of that ;)
for some reason some of you have good taste in your fish.
my choice is between a electric eel or a lung fish.

My fire eel does fine with out substrate. He eats worms like a pig and is growing bigger. :headbang2::headbang2::headbang2: He has his own cave to chill out and hide in. :headbang2:
