I have baby leopard/zebra danios that are 12 Days old. They are free swimming, but I never really see them eat. I put some First Bites in there every day, and some of them go towards the top now, but never all the way to the top like my adult fish do. How are they eating, and am I feeding them the right stuff?

They are in a 5 gallon tank all by themselves, and the temp fluctuates between 75 and 80F. I had counted a little less than 30 at first, but now when I try to count them, I get only about16. It is a little harder to count them now that theyare free swimming, though, but I'm pretty sure I am fairly accurate.

I have four fry myself that are about three weeks old now. Its only been in the past weeke that I've been able to see them eat. Remeber, their mouths are so small that they're eating particles you probably can't even see.

The First Bites might have been too big for them but they're probably fine now. My issue has been that I can't figure out how much to feed. I end up overfeeding a little and then coming back a few minutes later and sucking out the food that is left clumped together on the surface.

When I first found my fry I fed them Wardleys Small Fry. Its a liquid that I know they ate. Well, either they ate it or they really just enjoyed swimming back and forth in the cloud it makes in the water :D

Good luck with them. I started off with 2, found 4 more a week later, and now have the original 2 and 2 of the second 4 still alive and beginning to look like real fish.
