I have about 15 Platy Fry but I need to clean the tank but I am afraid to clean it. I don't want to suck any fry into the tube. Have any suggestions?

A breeder net will only cost you $3-5 dollars and should keep the fry isolated while you clean. Of course, its a pain trying to get them in there in the first place. I used a turkey baster to catch my zebra danio fry.

Thanks I will go out and get both I turkey baster and a fry net and I will see which one works better. My Fry are only 4 days old they are so cute.

Have you thought about vacuuming right into a bucket rather than a drain? If you do suck any up by accident, they won't get very far.

what if you change the water and put the hose into a bucket this way if you suck any out they will be in the bucket -
i don't think getting sucked through the tube will harm them

Thanks all. I will use the bigger hose so that it wont harm them to much.
