So I just bought 2 beautiful BN pleacos from Captain bob yesterday, http://www.captainbobsfishtales.com/, and I am not too knowledgable about their behaviors. They look healthy and great but all day today they both took over a hollowed out log and did not come out. Is it normal for plecos to just stay in a hollow log all day long? I think i saw the female once today on the glass feeding.

While BNs tend to be a bit more gregarious than other plecos, it's not uncommon for them to hide out for at least a few days after introduction to a new environment. They may come out more tonight. Give them a few weeks and they'll probably start coming out more.

YOu could also try luring them out with pieces of Zucchini or Broccoli.

Cool, thank you for the tips. I shall buy some zuchini tomorrow for them. I did stick 2 waffers down in the log for them so they dont have to leave to feed. I want them to feel as comfortable as possible.

It also helps if you pop it in the microwave for a few seconds to soften it up. If it isn't eaten after a day, then replace it so it doesn't rot and pollute your water.

peas also nuked are great, feed them regularly, courgettes are great aswell but needs to be taken out after 2 days if not eaten, also dont feed them many wafers, mine dont like them much at all. Just keep the greens going in and lace tyhem away from their hollow.. Great fih a joy to have and breed.
