I cut a coke bottle and wired some wire through the bottom, so i could grab it.
The blue rams were slow to go in, as the platys ate all the blood worms before they got there. So I caught my blue rams, and 3 platys , 1 swordtail, and 1 plty fry. lol
Make sure you have your ice cream container handy!!!
also dont stick sticky tape around the cut edges like I did. I couldn't get the fish out, hahaha!
Use something that comes off easy.maybe another small bit of wire through the side to remove the inside cone shape.
I put half a block of blood worms inside.
they couldn't wait to get in there!
No broken plants or scared fish.
What do I put inside to catch the catfish???

Way to go MacGyver!

Where are the fish going?

Nice job!

Good going! When I first read of this coke bottle thing my mind was visuallizing a glass coke bottle. I couldn't imagine what you were doing with the bottle and I really couldn't figure out how you were cutting the glass bottle. Thanks very much for the pictures-- they fully cleared up my confusion. A little mini-minnow trap. I wonder if something like that might work in the wild.
