im looking to add some large silk plants to my goldfish tank, the taller the better as the tank is 2 feet tall. i want something really realistic looking, so good quality, preferably with a weighted base but im interested in anything that looks realistic. thanks for all opinions.

I'll be interested to read this as well. I too prefer the weights - those darn plastic thingies are a pain and hard to keep buried during water changes. I have a couple really nice looking silk plants in my 60 gallon, but they fall apart much too easily. Almost all of my tops are gone, just from basic upkeep.

As far as tall goes all my tank are 31" or 2.5 Ft tall and while these are not silk they look realistic enough to pass as silk but much more durable and a fraction of the cost of silk.
The plants are known as Giant Floating Plants (36") that also have a base for anchoring. When on sale sell for under $7. I like them in all my aquariums as a back drop and they never fade are thick and strong and move with the current. Here you see 4 different plants in double bunched for better looks, the one most easily recognized bamboo.
