So, I know they just started but we already have a new OR in the men's 5000m speed skating and a few other medals out(maybe?). I just wanted to hear eveyones thoughts about the games. What are your favorite events? Mine are the speed skating and the ski jumps but I also like the moguls. More will come as the games go on!
 
Doh! I forgot the best part about the Olympics! What did everyone think about the opening ceremony?

The part I could stay awake for was very nice but I fell asleep before they lit the torch!
 
I found the opening kind of cool but boring at some parts. I didn't get the kid flying around at all. Also the roller bladers with lights on them was pretty odd.

I was at work all day today so I haven't seen anything. All I have to say is that the Luge Course design is awful. Who thought that putting a huge banked turn before a stretch with columns on the side only a few feet away from the course was a good idea? That kid had no reason to die. They could have put up a taller barrier or anything, they should know those athletes can fly out of the course, just stupid.
 
I also fell asleep b4 the torch. I barely stayed awake for he US entree lol. What i saw was awesome though.
 
It is a terrible thing that happened and I agree completly. Also, that video should have NEVER been put on TV. I can only imagine how the parents feel seeing that.
