View Full Version : Valentine's Day Surprise

Check this out. For Valentine's Day I got my wife this griddle that makes heart-shaped pancakes. Last night I tied a couple of ribbons onto the handle and set it on the stove, so it'll be easy for her to find come breakfast time.
I also made a custom greeting card that looks like a little restaurant menu. It shows all of the items that she's going to prepare for our Valentine's Day breakfast.
Anybody else get their gal/guy something special?

Did you buy some nice red/white dish washing cloths so she can get the dirty dishes properly clean...? It would have been thoughtful, me thinks.

Haha!
For the first time since my husband and I got together, the kids are gone and neither one of us has to work. A full day of absolute Alone Time-the perfect Valentine's Day gift, imo.

I was wondering if he also got her the egg genie:

seems like he is remiss for her culinary joy of cooking him breakfast without it!

Oh man! I hope she enjoys the gift!
If I got my wife that with the menu and everything,I could count on that being dented over my thick skull by the time everything was said and done.

My girlfriend is the proud owner of a brand new Vacuum, I think she'll really enjoy how lightweight and easy to run it is. I'm letting her try it out at my house right now. I think it's going to be a very good day!

Wow, all these gift posts by Madcrawdad and there's still people getting all worked up. Come on folks, his wife loves these kinds of gifts!
(Actually, I wouldn't mind having a griddle like that myself)
Reminds me of the story I heard of a man giving his wife Windex for christmas...

hehehehe! I had forgotten about the tater mitts! In truth, I would adore a surprise like the skillet, menu and all - it shows preparation and thoughtfulness. Course, I love anything to do with the kitchen and cooking. Heck, even a vacuum that I don't constantly have to stop and fix would be nice. I'm easy to please. :)

I got my boy friend a chocolate rose and a card, and he got me a bear with a heart shaped chocolate lollipop and printed out a picture of me and him on nice paper and framed it for me. We are sorta short on extra money right now, but I thought it was nice. We also spent the entire day together, and had a lovely dinner of McDonald's.
Everything was nice until I realized I have a paper due tomorrow in English. Ugh, I really don't want to right this paper!
I gave my girlfriend a gift card to Coach, her favorite purse store, and a dozen roses. She gave me a robotic arm. I so win.

We went to the furniture store and bought a new Kingsdown pillowtop mattress set today. So much for the tax refund, but at least it should be good to sleep on for years.

Like you, I wanted to give the missus something special this year, to show her how much she means to me.
After careful consideration, I found just the right thing.
While she already had a toilet brush, I figured if she had a new one it would get the toilet alot cleaner with less scrubbing on her part, since she often complains about how hard she has to scrub in and around the toilet because I'm often drunk and tend to splash alot when I pee. This should make things alot easier for her.
Unfortunately, she hasn't had a chance to use it yet, as she said she was going to her mothers (I assumed she was going to borrow toilet bowl cleaner, as I forgot to include it) and hasn't been back since. If she doesn't return in the next day or two, I may have to call. The dishes are really piling up, and there arent any clean frying pans.
I'm beginning to wonder if she is upset that I forgot to include the bowl cleaner with it. In hindsight, that does seem a little insensitive.

I'm sure she was just so touched by your thoughtfulness that she went out to get something truly great for you. You could save the mop for your anniversary, maybe she'll get you a 72inch plasma tv in return.

and here all i did was take the minivan to the shop. i figured it's her car so she could pay for the work. just wanted to make sure she had a reliable vehicle so she could bring home the bacon. i'm thinking she appreciated it. it took a lot on my part not to just spend her money on something i really wanted. when she saw the bill her eyes lit up like a christmas tree... once again a tears of joy story. i think she was pleased that i'd go so far out of my way. i would have got her a new snow shovel but it crossed my mind that a bigger shovel means more weight to lift at a time.
even today she mentioned how happy she was to go to work. i'm thinking i aced this one. :D
p.s. you guys are soooo thoughtful. i really do feel outclassed. i'm almost embarrassed to post this.
