The intended place for women....

"The woman came out of a man's rib,
not from his feet to be walked on,
not from his head to be superior over,
but from his side to be equal!
Under the arm to be protected and next to his heart to be loved"...

AMEN TO THAT!..........:iagree:

to many times men treat women as tools., to help their lives be better,.. that they all too often forget we are people unto ourselves...

Hey Sharon! :) I hope you're doing well. I completely agree with the above and thank you for sharing this. The role of women in society is a touchy subject even today. Some people at present, still do not realize that as women, we are more than a entity for cooking, cleaning, and child-bearing and we are certainly not personal property. I am far from being a feminist but know my worth and carry my own weight in my every day life. While I do not mind cleaning, cooking, and being under the protection of a man, if any man in my life thinks he is exempt from doing the above on days that I, myself, feel the need to be pampered and catered to -- I let that man know that it's time to hit the road. A real man knows how to treat a woman and keep his woman happy. :)

Thanks for the posting, now get back in the kitchen and fetch my dinner, woman!

I have not been one to own my wife or give her permission to do anything. My position is that since I don't own her, she can do whatever makes her heart go 'thump'. If you respect your spouse, you will treat them accordingly.

Jeff, that's just wonderful -- the fact that you respect your wife and have a understanding that just because a woman becomes your spouse, she should not lose her sense of self. It's really unfortunate but there are women out there who are unable to relish such privileges. I find it very frustrating when men do not see that women have needs too; and in many cases, it has little to do with down south. Some fellas think they are slick and act smart and pompous -- undermining a woman's worth. They really need to wake up because times are changing and women no longer need men to survive.

Robert, care to share what's so funny? ;) Considering your age and the fact that your house is so kempt, I assume you are betrothed or married. Do your ideas differ from the beautiful message of the O.P? Don't be shy. Enlighten us.:hi:

My wife broke my nose once...badly. Almost knocked myself out when I tried to straighten it out in the mirror.

Nose turned out remarkably straight in spite of my DIY job of setting broken cartilage.

Still in love (and breathing normally) after 15 years. I've slowed down, but gotten better at avoiding her ninja moves.

Ah, I see. Well for some, living alone is the better option/choice in life. Shucks, I was hoping to hear you eloquently express your thoughts and ideas but alas, this is not my thread. That's very polite and considerate of you to avoid possible derailment and treading/trampling of any nature. Thank you for the chuckle. :grinyes:

And P.S. You have really nice China in your cabinet for someone who lives alone. ;)

<eyes the can of worms>

It would probably depend on how one would define "equal". Equal in the eyes of the law? Yes. Equal in terms of human worth? Absolutely. In physical strength- not so much. Thus the whole "protection" bit at the end. ;)

Men who won't respect women don't deserve/shouldn't expect to have any of the benefits of women's existence, IMO.

Adam was walking around the Garden of Eden feeling very lonely, so God asked Adam, "What is wrong with you?"

Adam said he didn't have anyone to talk to. God said he was going to give him a companion and it would be a woman. He said this person will cook and wash for you, she will always agree with every decision you make. She will bear you children and never ask you to get up in the middle of the night to take care of them. She will not nag you, and will always be the first to admit she was wrong when you've had a disagreement. She will never have a headache, and will freely give you love and compassion whenever needed. Adam asked, "What would a woman like this cost me?" God said, "An arm and a leg."

Adam said, "What can I get for a just a rib?"

funny as it may be,... as i love humor, some of us don't get the privledge of having a good guy that just makes fun of this,.. but one that truely believes that crap,..

from years of having it told to them by their elder men that this is how its done,.. but yet un knowingly they them selves don't do it but the young men are tought to be domanate to women and control every aspect of their lives,.. and that in turn trickles down to spousel abuse, child abuse and the unheard of and un told animal/ pet abuse,..

it really isn't funny a bit,.. especially to the pets and children or the wife/partner..
just take the thought and teach it to you young sons the way it should be and the world just might change,..down the road a ways,.
