Leave or scrape old coralline alge residue?

I'm setting up a 125G that has previous coralline algae residue...maybe 5% of the back is covered. Is there any advantage to leaving it? or should I just scrape it clean?

Tank has been dry for about 6 weeks.

I'd just scrape it. Why not start out clean?

That was my thought...but wondered if the "old stuff" was a good substrate to encourage "new stuff" Or does it matter?

not being lazy...as it seems to be quite easy to clean off.

It will encourage film and microalgal growth before it encourages anything else.
