So, so very sad.....Just found out my 17 year old nephew passed away tonight. Not sure how/why, just that he collapsed at home after complaining of chest pain and not being able to breathe......the ambulance took over an hour to get there....(fairly remote Colorado) He did not make it..... Please pray for his family.

Remember who is important and tell them you love them every chance you get - it may be the last.

You are so very right about never miss an opportunity to tell your family you love them. I have a rule in our house about never hang up the phone or see someone leave without telling them you love them. Always make sure the last thing you ever got to say to them "I love you". Like you said, You never know".

Thank you. I/we have the same unspoken rule. We always say "I love you" whenever we can. Not phony but sincere, cause it may be the last words you hear. I am so heartbroken right now. Thanks for sharing my pain. I love my AC friends.......I must go to bed now....

Oh gosh, Noodles -- So so sorry for your loss. How devastating. You hear about incidents like these: sudden losses, no opportunity to say goodbye, and unseen deaths and you just hope and pray that someone close does not have to endure such raw pain and sadness. So many people live such busy lives and even though we know we should say it more often, we forget - we shy away - we don't express enough how much we love someone and each other. Death of a loved one is never easy, but death of a child is just about the hardest thing that anyone might have to cope with.

My thoughts are with you and your family - especially our nephew's parents. It will take them a very long time to recover from this - and they will need your support and the support of their friends and other family members in this time.

My family went through something similar 11 years ago, so I know it will take a long time to start getting back to somehow living normally. Take it one day at a time...

I'm sorry to hear this, thank you for the reminder because we do get busy and forget this.
I had some friends that lost their 13year old son, the mom found him dead in his bed one morning. Apparently it was a bad seizure in the middle of the night. I can't get it out of my mind, you always worry about your kids passing away too early.

My condolences to your family Noodles......I just lost a niece last week. She was only 22. She was in a head on crash back in the middle of December. Some drunk was going the wrong way down the highway. They checked her out at the hospital....she was banged up a bit not apparently serious....they sent her home.

Last Tues afternoon she died suddenly. My brother said she had complained that her stomach hurt the week before but she thought is was just menstral related and didn't get it checked out. The report isn't in yet but we think she had an abdominal anurism which took her out instantly. Damaged caused by the seatbelt that weakened a major artery in her abdomen.

If you or anyone you know is ever in an accident.....make sure if you have any abdominal or chest pains afterward checked out and don't forget to tell the dr that you were recently in a car accident. There's no quarantee that if there is damage it would be found....but at least you won't be where my brother and his wife are now....."Man...I wish we had checked that out !"

Life is too short and precious.....a very sad week.....

wow! that is very scary!! he was in a car accident with his sister a month or so ago.....
we still dont know really what caused his death, but I really appreciate all of the kind words and thoughts. I know it is difficult to talk to others when they lose a loved one, and I appreciate that, but this thread and my friends here on AC have helped more than you could ever know.....We have yet to talk to my sister in law (his mom) ashe has not been able to take a call yet.....keep the good mojo coming our way as his immediate family tries to deal with this....
