I purchased the sw from my lfs. The sg is 1.030+. IT is off the chatr on my hydrometer. it is a redsea one.How do i get the # in the normal range. And i think i am going to do my own water from now on. This is crazy. Any suggestions
I agree that you would be better off with a refractometer, but it's also important to verify its reading / calibrate it regularly. The calibration solution is around $6 online and an easy add-on if you find yourself placing an order from one of the many internet vendors.
If it really is that high, you can dilute it down with freshwater RO or RO/DI water to get the SpG that you're looking to have.
YEa my hydrometer is off by.01. Not really a big deal to me. it is on the low side. so i shouldn't have any problems. Water has stabilized out to 1.023. So i am happy with that
