Whats the general consensus on this pairing? Should it be done? I know where I can get orange flash females and I have a triple red male, but no triple red females.

Its my understanding that Orange flash plus orange flash will throw orange flash AND tripple reds/double reds. I am pretty sure that with only one parent expressing orange flash I think you'll get mostly if not 100% reds. i'd be surprised to see any orange flash. that being said, I've never tried it. Just an educated guess.

I saw a post somewhere saying orange flash and triple red inbreeding.....just wanted to be sure it wasn't like breeding to Scottish fold cats or something.

Someone can correct me if I am wrong, but I believe genetically speaking they are the same species of fish, just different colors. I believe they are all apistogramma cacatuoides. Just like a silver angel and a black angel and a koi angel are all P. Scalare- just different colors. Like a blonde and a redhead to put it in human terms. You wouldn't be *******izing anything.

At this point its moot, went by the LFS today and they were sold out already....*sigh* oh well.

They are the same fish. The Orange Flash has just been line bred to get rid of the black markings on the fins. If you combine them, chances are you will see Double Red, Triple Red, and Normal colored Apistos with the Orange Flash gene. This would then give thier offspring a chance of producing Orange and whatever makeup the parents are. Of course it all depends on if you want to work with them this way.

My store had some really crappy stock (health-wise), and I lost both of my female orange flashes. They didn't look unhealthy, they just were. I feel your pain.
