My lovely pearl gourami has a split in one of his feelers. I'm honestly not sure if he came home from the LFS like this and I missed it or if he did it sometime in his first couple of weeks here.
If you read my other thread you'll see that he was initially extremely shy. I didn't get a good look at him from less than 12 or 14 feet away until I'd had him around two weeks. Once he started coming out and I could get a good look at him, I saw that one of his feelers is split. There's one large section, but also a narrow strip that runs almost all the way up. The split stops about 1/3" from his body. There's no redness or obvious sign of infection. Now that he's figured out I am not a fish eating monster he'll almost eat out of my hand, so I can see it quite well. It doesn't seem to be causing a problem. I'm just wondering if I need to worry and if it's likely to grow back correctly.
My tank parameters are 0 ammonia and 0 nitrites constantly. I have not seen any real aggression within the tank.
ETA: I don't believe I will be able to get a picture, but will try. While he has decided I'm not a huge danger, the camera is apparently a fish eating monster!
