I had 11 tropical fish in my new 55 gallon fish tank and 10 out of the 11 died. I know I had enough chlorine in it, but a friend of mine told me that the temperture may have been wrong? I do not currently have any fish remaining in the tank because I wanna make sure it's right before waisting any more money. I need to know whats the correct temperture for a fresh water tank and how can I keep it at the correct temperture.
Thanx in advance............................

Did your tank cycle? I suggest you do a search on how to cycle a tank. You can buy an aquarium heater to keep the water at a desired temp.

74-80 is generally okay. Did the fish have any signs of disease? like white spots?
And, um, what do you mean " I know I had enough chlorine in the tank?"
You should not have ANY chlorine in the tank. Chlorine is very bad for fish - that is why there is something called dechlorinator that we use to remove the chlorine (and something called chloramines) from the fish's water.
Also, what fish did you have?

also what kind of fish do you have and how high(or low) is your pH?
You should probly buy a test kit
