stupid question

Well i thought i'd just ask. I am gonna be picking up a small little clown and i have a tickle filter used for waterflow and was wondering the tube used to suck up the water, should i put some mesh over that, so the fish and other things dont get sucked up. Same goes for the powerhead. Would this reduce the amount of GPH?? Thanx in advance :cool:

no, it should not cut into the GPH, as long as you find a mesh that has pretty big holes, then you should be fine IMO
