Hi,

I have a sick swordtail, problem is one evening i discovered him hanging to a corner and real thin with these white grains stuck to his tail.the previous morning he was a bit moody but no white stuff visible
i immediately transferred him to my 10 gallon hospital tank from
He seem sto hav egottn better , the white grains have almost disappeared just 2 -3 more spots left and he is swimming around a bit. today he tried to eat a bit too. i really love the little guy and hope he gets back to his jolly self again. ive posted a few pics. No other fish was affected only a rainbow fish got attacked by my gourami and died (one part of the body was swollen badly)

Can any one advice please?? :help2:

Although I dont know how long you had this swordtail and how old it is, its configuration seemed somewhat abnormal (curved spine?? Could it be the pic?)

Was he (I think young male)ever exposed to low pH (acidic water) or other extreme conditions for him for long time?

Is the area I have circled in black the white spots you were talking about?

Can you please tell us more about your tank.

How did you cycle your tank?

Size of the tank, how long set up, what type filter, substrate, water conditioner, plants or plastic.

How many other tank occupants - types and numbers of each.

Tank maintenance schedule: water changes volume and frequency, and do you vacuum the substrate?

Feeding schedule and types of food.

Parameters: ammonia, nitrite, nitrate, ph, temperature.

Kind of water testing kit: strips or liquid test kit.

Any new fish added to the tank, and do you quarantine new fish and for how long if you do.

How do you clean and maintain your filter?

These are tedious questions, I know, but they will help us figure out what's going on, and enable us to help figure out what is needed to help him.

Best wishes to you and your little guy, I hope he feels better soon.
