so im wondering will a 29 gallon hold a full grown firemouth if its just him and not be to big for the tank

I've read a breeding pair could be put in a 30G, so I'm sure 1 adult should be ok in a 29G

There's a relatively large difference in dimensions (length) though. I wouldn't want to keep a pair in a 29g even though it's only "one gallon" different from the 30g.

Anyways, I think you should be fine as long as it stays as just the one FM.

I currentley have 2 FM in a 29 gal and they seem to be doing great. just provide a lot of hidding spaces and keep up with the water c
