Best way to aerate the tank?

I have two powerheads, both are fully submerged, so there is no oxygen pumping into it that way... single 12" bubble wall...

what are other ways of aeration?

Are your fish have breathing troubles. Unless it looks like they are labouring for breath they are getting plenty of oxygen. Other wise a small pump with an air stone will help but it also lead to faster evaporation.

you can get aeration from having H.O.T. power filters running empty. protein skimmers help too.

sometimes it looks like sharky is breathin a lil rough. I dont have an HOT filter for it, just canister. Thinkin of gettin a bigger air pump tho. I am definitly aware of the evap situation. I had my pump give out last night and water backed up down the air tube, flooded the pump out and fried that sucka, so its time for a new one. Guess u could call it an automatic water change, seeing as how i woke up to a 51 gallon tank.. ehhe... At least the sucker is clear for a change. Bout to put in the micron filter and polish the water up :)

What about Marine plants.. I havent seen n e in the LFS's. I have a few peices of LR in a 10 gallon that have small plants on em, i was thinkin since there isnt n e fish in it, just a few crabs, pullin that and puttin it in the 55. Good/Bad idea? Just let it cycle for a few weeks, then slowly add the rock back
