Will blue damsels survive with a SG of 1.015-1.020 in a high end brackish tank?

Welcome to Aquaria Central! Will they survive yes. Will they be happy? Only at the higher end. Just be sure you know they can be very aggressive so choose tankmates accordingly. Anyway, hope this helps and good luck.

Pufferpunk kept some in a SG of 1.019 for awhile. However, they're now in SW I believe.
I wouldn't go any lower than 1.019-1.020
Why don't you try to get these, Pomacentrus taeniometopon Brackish damsel.

thanks for the reply. I have never seen those brackish damsels at the LFS. I currently have 2 GSP and was wanting a tankmate that could hold its own with them and I have heard that these damsels can be put with aggresive fish. I don't think I want to go full salt though. How much more difficult would full salt be than high brackish? I assume a protien skimmer, and live rock would be needed on the marine but not the brackish, is that correct?

True but IMO higher brackish is harder to maintain than saltwater because you don't have the live rock and such. Just my opinion though, plus you have more cool fish options when you go salt. Anyway, hope this helps and good luck.

you need SW with adult GSPs anyways so you better plan ahead. No matter what you're going to need a protein skimmer.
