I'm looking for a sponge filter around the size of the Hydor I, shown here: http://www.bigalsonline.com/BigAlsUS/ctl3684/cp19170/si1379356/cl0/lustarhydrospongefilter1

My LFS doesn't stock sponge filters, and the ones I find online are reasonably priced except shipping. For some the online pet stores charge more for shipping than the price of the item. And sponge filters, I would imagine, weigh very little!

So I'm just looking for reasonable shipping. I also don't care if your filter is brand new or heavily used as long as it works!

I've had good luck working witha supplier on Ebay, williamsgarden. Prices were reasonable and equipment has held up well so far.

try www.kensfish.com people have said many good things about that site, though I've never used it personally

check the lfs and see if they will order one for you.
if they place it with their regular order you won't have a shipping fee. many LFS will special order one with a deposit.

I have one I will ship with hose attached for 10.00 shipped.

The sponge does have some weight with the bottom has a weight in it to help it stay on the bottom of the tank .

The one I have is great for a 10 gallon. just pm me if you want it .

This is how I got mine a couple of years ago. I got a nice one for just $5. :)

I'll try to get an LFS to order one for me. I don't have car, though, so I'm limited to metro accessible stores like petco, but I'll try! :(

The problem with kensfish for me is that although the sponge filters look great and are fairly priced, shipping comes to over 12 dollars for that single item!

Make the price of kens shipping worthwhile and buy a bunch of his wonderful fish food lol.
