Hi I am new and I have no knowledge about how to keep an aquarium, but I ahve had one for close to fourteen years. pleas do not yell at me. I have a problem. My wife and I have had a plecos for about twelve years now. His name is Sappy because he would stay attached to the glass all the time until we would feed him/her (algae waffers). He is abot nine inches long and has been for quite some time (more than two years). Lately he just lies at the bottem ofthe bed and won't eat. I checked his stomach out real well and it is really sunk in. I never clean the tank other than change out the filter and add well water as needed. The tank is very clear and clean other than below the gravel line. I need help. Please do not yell at me. The care we do not give him is out of lack of knowledge, but he has done so well for twelve years. What do we do?

Welcome to AC. There are many here who have great knowledge of disease and or plecos. Sometimes we get over zealous, but we are here to help each other, not yell at each other.

Welcome to AC! I know that someone will be able to help you. One way to get attention to your problem is to put a post in either the freshwater disease section or the catfish forum. That way, people who know plecos will be able to help. If you have a picture of your buddy that you could post, that might help, too, so that members can help ID the problem. Good luck. We're thinking good thoughts for Sappy.
