I have a heavily planted Dario Dario 18 gallon tall tank. I have 4 juvies in there. Can I have a couple more fish in there and what would you suggest if I can. These guys are a bit over 1/4 inch. Shall I just leave it a species tank or can I add a couple more fish that I can readily see? Right now it's difficult to see the Dario and it just looks like a planted tank. Not the look I was going for.

Scarlet Badis (Dario Dario) are a very shy fish and don't get very big. Even so having dither fish would help tremendously. Though some of my suggestions people may not agree with, it's just a suggestion.
Suggestions:
Cherry Barbs(s)
Female Betta(s)
Small Corydoras Species
Spotted Rasboras
Zebra Danios
Pearl Danios (Zebra)
Clown Pleco
Guppies
Endler's
Depending on Personallity You could add with caution:
Male Betta
Paradise fish (Small)
Odessa or Rosy Barbs, etc. (Not tigers)
Ram cichlid (Probably not bolivian)
With very very very VERY EXTREME CAUTION, a VERY TAME Angelfish
The problem with other fish is it can be a challenge to feed these little guys when they have competition. Mine only take live or some frozen food and even if I target feed them the surrounding neons and others will move right in and even take the food right out of their mouths. Just something to consider. The micro rasboras may present less of a problem in this regard.
Pygmie cories could be another good option.
You could go all nano fish, I was thinking about doing this in my 15
Something like
Pygmy cory cats
Emerald eye rasboras(1")
Celestial danios(galaxy rasboras) 1"
Red cherry and/or tiger shrimp these things are awesome!
Maybe a honey dwarf gourami (~2") as a mini 'feature fish'
dwarf platys (one of the cutest fish you can get) barely 2"
1 Sparkling gourami 1 1/2"
Kinda like a 55 scaled down, you can stock it pretty well with very little bioload. The 'inch' rule is more or less a cubic inch of fish, 4-5 emerald eye tetras are about the same as one grown zebra danio
