I have read before that GSPs like to have higher salinity or even total salt water when they get older. How old is "older". I have him at about 1.010 for right now and i have had him for about 5 months. How loong do i wait to move him up?

Welcome to Aquaria Central. It kinda depends as there is no real rule as to when to adjust him. I have a Mono argenteus that I had in brackish for a year (same salinity as you have) and then suddenly his color went dark and stopped eating. This lasted a week and so I got worried so over the course of 2 hours acclimated him to full strength marine (1.024-which is 100 percent not avdvised but I was afraid I was going to loose him) and he was as happy as a clam and ate everything from that night forward. I would say at least by the time they get 3" or so would be a good time to acclimate up if not sooner. Hope this helps and welcome.

My rule of thumb is this way: <2" 1.008-10, 2-4" 1.012-15, >4" 1.018-22.
