View Full Version : Will convicts breed in a standard 20g?

So I ended up getting a male and female convict with one of the tanks I bought on CL and I might try to breed them for feeders. I am wondering if you could breed two convicts in a 2ftx1ft tank.

although bigger is better with many many offsprings to come,they will breed in any medium provided.. LOL!

They will breed anywhere, anytime. All that is required is a male, a female, and a place to live. More proliferate than guppies.

Like everyone else said, they'll breed anywhere. I had a pair that bred in a 10g constantly, even after I turned the heater off and lowered the temp. down to 72'. My roomates oscar had plenty of feeders. By the way they were only 2" when I had them in the 10g so it's not like they were crammed in there.

make sure you remove them if not eaten or else you will see how tough these guys are

like everyone else has said convicts will breed no matter wat...i have them in a community tank and they wont stop breeding poor lil babies didnt even have a chance..

Convicts will breed in a 1/2 a can of beer (as noted by a member a long time ago).

I kept Convicts years ago. Didn't realize they had babies until they attacked my hand while doing a partial water change. They were in a 20 gallon tank at the time.
