Gorgeous tank and some nice fish, but ugh not my style of fishkeeping at all. Looking at that tank makes me feel claustrophic.

This is just crazy but I LOVE IT... all i want to know if how do you feed all these monsters and make sure they all eat. Obviously they are all eating well... I only have one monster.. .could imagine the bill for food and upkeep on this tank..... so jealous...........

Yikes!! Very cool in the wall tank - but man, are those fish crammed in there! Obviously you are doing something right since they all appear perfectly healthy. They are sure squeezed in there though.

Nice!

Mind if I pop by later for a swim?

And I'm guessing you don't do water changes with five gallon buckets...

Am I the only one who thinks it looks terrible. Just far too overcrowded and busy, totally unnatural. Horrible. Sorry, appreciate the skill and effort it took but not my cup of tea. Would have looked a lot better planted up aquascape style and filled with giant shoals of tetras, but thats just me :-)

Nope, I feel the same way. I'd rather have some nice tree stumps and huge plants with large schools of small fish.

Waaaaay too busy but very nice nonetheless.

Would like to see the whole tank and not just left and center.

That's stunning. What's that big albino guy, and how do you water change a 1200 gallon tank? Both may be dumb questions but meh.

Nope your not the only one. It looks ridiculous,IMO. You would not even have to go to the other way of having it planted with small fish to make it look nice.Just don't cram so many large fish into what turned into a small space. Where is this tank anyway? Asian Aros are illegal in the U.S.

I think you are talking about the Giant Gourami.
It has a drip system of fresh water,so water changes are not needed.

Awesome tank....way overstocked though....

NorthcoastGirl
03-06-2010, 11:05 AM
Yeah, way too many fish for my tastes as well. But, wow, that's a Giant Gourami? It should be called Humongous Gourami. I've never seen one in perspective like that, where you can tell how big they actually are. Sheesh.

Fish look good, especially the rays...it is a testimate to your water quality that your rays are so healthy looking. Im not against overstocking but thats a few to many for my tastes as well. What are your long term plans for the Pima?

I just don't get it I suppose. To each their own and I do not doubt the owner of this tank knows a billion times more than I do about fishkeeping, it just looks like someone has emptied a bag of huge fish into a glass box for transporting somewhere proper. I would be interested to hear the opinions of people who think this looks good and ask them why, genuinely, do they think that looks good. Not individual fish being impressive, I mean the thing with a huge empty glass tank stuffed with lots.

I have the same problem with the guy on another forum who has a huge mega tank and was obsessed with rays. I dont get it, they dont do anything for me, the fact that they cost thousands of pounds just made it even more strange for me to understand. The tank had hardly anything in it and looked terrible. Perhaps I have just been spoiled by seeing these smaller tanks planted up Amano style (I dont mean as good as that but just a bit of greenery and aquascaping), but just a nicely planted well kept tank with lots of small fish or a few feature fish just sits a lot better on my eyes!

I must say I feel bad for the fish. You have like 10 too many fish in their man.

Wow inhumane how they are so crammed in there, the tank has amazing potential. I would much rather see a reef tank or a planted tank with shoals of tiny fish.
