Hello everyone,

I got a female dwarf gourami about 5 weeks ago. When I first got her she looked a little thin but not unhealthy looking. I've been feeding her once a day and she's been eating good for me. I have 2 female dwarf gourami's and I just got a male dwarf gourami the other night. They are all geting long great so far. But she's gotten kind of chubby. She's the first one to the food in the morning but she's not a bully at feeding time.
Does she have eggs or is she just chubby from eating too much?
Here is a picture of her and the 2nd picture is my male dwarf gourami.

Considering you have a male in the tank, it may be eggs. Has he made a bubblenest?

No he hasn't made a bubblenest yet. I just got him the other night. Will she release the eggs if the male isn't ready to breed yet? She started to get chubby before I got the male.

Oh, it may be constipation from overfeeding then... doesn't look like dropsy to me. Try feeding her cooked, shelled peas for a day or two and see if it helps. You will probably need to break it down into small pieces for her to consume.

Ok I'll definately try and feed her a cooked shelled pea tomorrow morning. I hope she's ok, she has the most personality out of the three so far.

I agree, do a couple feedings of peas and then a day or two of fasting.

So I should just feed them peas for a few days and then fast for a few days? I fed peas to them this morning and all of the gourami's seemed to like them lol.

Can you use frozen pea's then cook and chop up? Just curious

i've used frozen cooked peas before, defrosted them of course, and i de-shelled them because it's easier to digest.
